Have You Given HOPE Lately?
June 11, 2014
Last Saturday, Tradition Companies hosted its sixth annual charity Suburban Adventure Walk + Run and Kids Fun Run at Spirit of Brandtjen Farm to raise money for our local charity of choice, HopeKids Minnesota. The event was tremendous success; raising over $100K in donations for HopeKids. Be sure to check out a few photos from the event below and check back next week for more!
As part of the Tradition Family of Companies, we at Robert Thomas Homes would like to thank all of our corporate partners who donated to the cause at a sponsorship level. As well as recognizing all our Robert Thomas Homes’ employees who gave a financial donation, volunteered, and/or participated at the event. In total with employee contributions and our corporate sponsors, Robert Thomas Homes’ raised nearly $13,000.
This year Robert Thomas Homes donated $1,000 for every new home purchased between May 1, 2014 and June 7, 2014. Along with this contribution, Tradition Mortgage also donated $500 for every Robert Thomas Homes new home purchased during this time frame. Along with our home sales contribution, we did a Facebook “LIKE” promotion,
where for every new LIKE to the Robert Thomas Homes’ Facebook Page between June 1 and June 7, Robert Thomas Homes donated $1 (with a maximum donation of $500 for 500 LIKEs) to HopeKids. It was our great pleasure to have the Robert Thomas Homes’ President, Todd Stutz present HopeKids’ President, Josh Taylor and Executive Director, Brian Anderson, with a $7,500 check for these two efforts.
We share the same passion as our parent company, Tradition Companies, to support our local community and organizations that have helped contribute to the success of our business. Robert Thomas Homes’ greatly appreciates everyone who came out and helped me make the Run + Walk a success. By taking part in any way, you provided the most powerful gift of all…HOPE!

WHAT IS HOPEKIDS?
HopeKids is a nonprofit organization that provides a unique outlet of support and activities for families with children who are diagnosed with cancer or other life-threatening medical conditions.
WHAT IS THE SUBURBAN ADVENTURE RUN?
To help raise money for this cause, the Tradition Family of Companies, including Robert Thomas, hosts an annual Suburban Adventure 5K/10K Walk + Run, Kids Fun Run, and free post-race activities including lunch for all participants, face painting, a bounce house, dog agility, swimming, strong-men pull, reptile zoo, and much more! Our event allows families a chance to forget about their illness for a day and just have fun!
This year Tradition Companies walked on behalf Carson, 11, and Anders, 7, who are siblings with a genetic, life-threatening disease called Cystic Fibrosis. Their diagnosis just last summer has changed their lives forever. The boys, who have always been active with sports, now do lengthy treatments and therapies on a daily basis in order to keep their lungs clear and healthy. Frequent doctor appointments, tests and medications are a constant but with the help of HopeKids’ events, they are truly given hope. The Waterworth family is forever grateful to HopeKids for putting a smile on all of their faces, during a time when smiles were few and far between.
These are not the only siblings currently fighting a battle, there are many other families with similar stories as Carson and Anders. There are plenty of ways you too can be involved in HopeKids’ mission; to see how, visit https://www.hopekids.org/.
